It certainly looks like your class had a great time on their trip to this camp. Is this a field trip that your class takes each year? My students would love to be able to go on a field trip to climb rock walls and ride horses. Even though we are from Texas, we do not all have horses to ride! I would love to hear more about this camp. What a lucky bunch of students you have!
Mrs Carrington we go every second year. It was the first time we have ever taken Year 4. Ususally it is Yr 5 and 6. But the Yr 6 students went on the senior camp. So I twisted the arm of the Yr 4 teacher to come with us. We go to the camp, they do the cooking, we do the cleaning and tidying and washing dishes, cleaning the toilets! etc. They provide especially trained people for the risky or skilled activities. The funny thing is I am not very fond of going on camp, even for the three days that it was. Long days, late nights, etc. However we teachers and parents had lovely accomodation this time so that sweetened it a bit. However in saying that the students loved it, and you see them taking challenges and really stretching themselves. Especially with the rock wall climbing. In New Zealand I think most schools would have school camp on a regular basis for students from about 8-9 years to the 12-13yrs that we go up to.
Victoria for my class this was the first time they went on camp, they usually do it every second year. What country do you come from and does your school have school camps?
Great Miss T. Great video. i know that our classes really enjoyed camp. Do you know…there was only one person who did not go on the flying fox out of all the students. That was pretty good. I enjoyed being at camp with you
