Rocky Shore Field Trip.
Today we visited the Island Bay Marine Centre and had a really wonderful school day! The only part I didn’t like was my hat! A shark! This is an overall video of the time we spent there. Students in my class you can find all the clips on the photo archive. You can make your own videos of the sea creatures you have been studying. Ask Antonio to help you. Probably Teegan will too. Then they can be uploaded to your glogs.

My favourite part of the trip was holding the sea cucumbers and looking around the rocks to find some creatures.

I want to say that going to the Island Bay Marine Center,was not that much fun for me because the smell! was just disgusting!!! But other wise it was awesome!!

Wow that field trip looked fun! Where you able to find any starfish on the shore by the rocks? What was the funnest part of your field trip? Is the beach close by to the school or did you have to travel a long way? I really enjoyed watching this video. My favorite part was when all the students were able to hold the big long stringy starfish.

Jennifer, great to receive a comment from you. Yes the field trip was a lot of fun and learning. Starfish are no longer called that as they are not fish, they are seastars! For me the best part of the trip was seeing all the students so fully engaged. We had done some research before we went, so that meant we knew what we were looking at. The rocky shore was a one hour trip away in a bus from our school. We do have a sandy beach 5 minutes away in a car and a rocky shore about 20 minutes away, but we went to this one because of the marine centre. I am pleased you enjoyed the video. Do you live near a beach? Or do you live inland? What field trip have you been on this year that you really enjoyed?

This is amazing I wish we had that were we our the starfish were really creepy but cool you should come and look at our blogs there not this intresting but they still are!!!
