The Day it Snowed!
Since the school began we have never had snow! The school is over 55 years old, maybe we have never had snow before on the Coast during the day. Today all that changed. While it wasn’t snow that Dunedin and Christchurch are getting, and we can’t even rival Wellington, we did have our own snow experience today and we will be happy to count it.

That was so fun!! I haven’t been is snow since I lived in Invercargill. I didn’t believe we haven’t had snow here for 30 years. I think we might have a black out at my house with the weather.

It looks like you all had a fab time in the snow! Dunedin was shut down yesterday and today and all schools were closed. I would love to have had some time play with my class. Hopefully, we are all back tomorrow and ready to blog about our experiences!

Theat looks really fun! In tassie wot snow for haven’t got snow for ages (except on the mountain). The time we got snow at my house it was 2004! My sister and I madfe a snow man on the car. And then she put me on the trampoline and I slipped and fell in the snow.!

Wow that snow must of been lots of to play in. I wish it would snow where I am. I love snow, I mostly like making snowmans in the snow.

A.J. I wish you had snow too where ever you are. It is cold but a lot of fun. We rarely get snow, like once in 30 years, so we made the most of it, my students got very excited.

I have read about how you have had snow. I live in Sydney, Australia and here it would be very unusual to have snow, because we never have snow.
It must be very amazing to wake up with snow pouring down. I wish I was there!

You are very lucky to have snow, in Tassie we don’t have snow very often at all. It has only snowed once in tassie that I can remember, all though it still does get very cold.

That is so cool how you saw snow for the first time! I know someone that lived in California all her life, but for the past year she had been living in Illinois. She saw snow for the first time and she loved it! Snow is so fun to play in- make sure to wear your hats and gloves!

I live in Illinois, so it snows all the time, but my cousins live in the southern part of California, so they haven’t seen snow since they lived here. I know how exciting it can be to see it the first time! I remember the first time I played in the snow. It was one of my greatest memories! So drink lots of hot chocolate, have fun, and stay warm!

I live in the United States of America, in a region called the Mid-west. Here we get a lot of snow in the winter, but it also gets warm in the summer. I guess we get the best of both worlds. In the winter it gets really cold and there is always snow. Last year we had a record setting snowfall. We had a snow day for two days. If you are unaware of what a snowday is it is when you miss school because the snow is blocking the road. There was so much snow it was amazing and defintley one of the best snowdays ever.

We get plenty of snow here in Illinois! It actually gets kind of annoying at times, because it makes driving difficult. Although, sometimes we get to miss school because of it, so that part is great! I’m glad you had fun with the snow. I know people in Florida who have never saw snow until they came to visit me and their excitement just made me love it even more. It’s always fun to build a good snowman!!

It must be fun building a snowman, but rather cold work? Some of the schools to the south of our country get a lot of snow and they miss school. Never us though sadly.

In Illinois we get snow very often during the winter months. Actually last year our winter lasted all the way to the end of February. The reason that is because Illinois got hit with a blizzrd. Where I lived we got three to four feet. It took days to get our driveways, highways, and streets completely cleared. I like living hear because the winter is so exciting. Yes I remember seeing that on our TV. We have a family that are NZers who are over in Washington DC so we follow that part of the world with a little extra interest and note what is happening there.

Your school has never had a snow day in almost 55 years? Here in NYC we have snow days all the time. It’s usually freezing in NYC so we always come to school with a heavy coat and boots!

Here in Illinois We get a ton of snow in the winter. It gets very cold here though. I love to go out and play in the snow and have snowball fights. After I go out in the snow I like to go inside and have a nice cup of hot chocolate. My uncle lives in New Mexico and I remember when he first saw snow. He thought it was really cool too. I hope you have fun in the snow!

Yes it was a lot of fun, as I said to someone else I spent a week in the snowy weather in Chicago. It was very cold!! Our snow was here one minute and gone the next.
