Writer Notebook
There will be an extra one, leave that at home until you find out which one you run out of, and then that can be used. It is best to buy them now because of the bargains in stationery at this time of the year. You will have two Mathematics books, label both and bring with you to school.
These people already have their Writer Notebook at school as we kept it here at school.
Breellen, Daniel, Jordan, Siabhaon, Emma, Teegan, Miggy, Cameron, Jessica, Joseph, Charlottem Simone, Sahara.
Please place your name on things like glue sticks, scissors, earphones. Please place your earphones in plastic ziploc bag and label the bag with your name.
Large boxes of tissues do not need naming. We keep these together and use them throughout the year. Please hand them in to me on arrival the first morning so I can tick your name off the list.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment.

hey Miss Tea, the new year has began, good luck with school tomorrow and for the rest of the year. I hope it will be fun and exciting as it was for us “year nines”. College starts tomorrow at 11am-12:30pm for Years 9 and 10, i am quite excited because it’s not a FULL day of work, it’s just a day of meeting new people, getting to know them and talking about our subjects, classes and teachers.
Wednesday is a full day for everyone and Thursday is our Porwhiri, Friday i’m not sure whats happening, but I can’t wait to find out!
Again good luck for tomorrow and for the rest of the year to come. I think it’s going to be weird for a while, going to a school where you don’t know anyone and the people you would normally talk to aren’t there, but fingers crossed it should be good.

What a special delight to come onto the blog tonight and receive a comment from you, it has made my day and will make this week extra special for me.
I have been thinking of all the Year 9′s. My nephew was moaning on Facebook because he went back to college Monday – today. He is a Year 9 too. We didn’t give him any sympathy!
I really hope your beginning of the year goes well. It is a very exciting time. I remember starting college – many years ago and can still feel that excitement and anxiety as well. It’s good to know you begin gently and feel your way into it. By Friday you will probably into the work side of things! I wish you the very best, it is a wonderful opportunity that you have, enjoy it all and just give it your best. That is all that is asked.
Yes it will be weird for you for awhile, but as you do things together you will build relationships up, and don’t you have a few cousins that will hopefully check up on you. Well they should I think!
As in every year as we begin school I feel a bit weird and anxious too as I begin out with some new students and a new space. I am so excited about our area in Grace Hall, I think it will work really well. We are going to be known as Year 8.
Have told your Dad I want to see a photo of you in your smart new college uniform. All the best Tamara, and stick to the wisdom in those songs you listen to. You can make it through.
Every blessing

Hey Miss T its Daniel from Tonga. I tried going onto Edmodo but it wouldn’t allow me on. Do you think it wouldn’t be to much of a hassle to e-mail the username and password to me if not could you please make me a new one.
We started Form 2 on Monday 30th. My Social Science teqcher from last year is my homeroom teacher this year. Form 2 isn’t that hard in my opinion, its just a continuation of Form 1. Only 9 students (including me) from our Form 1 class have gone on to Form 2. The rest have left and 1 got held back. Our class has 14 students in it compared to 21 last year. We got 3 new students and 2 got held back.
I’m going to be sent to college in the city when I get back to NZ, which is around Nov-Dec this year. A few of my friends from Tonga who went back to NZ are living in Upper Hutt so I will get to see them as well.
Say hi to everyone from me and tell them I’m reading their blogs, just not commenting.
Daniel.
P.S.- I get home from school around 3:35-3:40pm Tongan time so I’m free for Skype if you guys are behind.

Daniel
Fantastic to hear from you. I will look into Edmodo for you and email you, give me until the weekend and will email you by Sunday. Hassle me again if I forget.
14 students huh! We have 20 this year and have moved into the GH4 area. Are you coming back for a break anytime this year? You can come and visit if you are.
Hope the year goes well for you. And then college. You will love it and be so ready for it after your experiences in Tonga.
I will look into the time factor, we may be the same time, but it would be great if we are behind and we can organise a skype. I will email you about that too.
I will also let the class know, they will see your comment anyway, some of them may reply to you here anyway.
Best wishes
Miss T

Thanks Miss Tea,
Hey, you’d be proud of me for standing in front of ALL the Year sevens, Year eights and Year nines at school today just to say a 2 minute speech about project ideas that we’re starting. We didn’t practice what we were going to say, we just said what was written on our idea page, in fact i was more scared to do speeches at St Pat’s then here, here i was excited and ready to go up (everyone else, not so much).
Remember last year when you told us to write down two or three goals, one of them for me was able to speak in public, (today,i can tick off that goal).
My first day was awesome and today was even better, even though it’s my second day maths is my favorite subject (believe it or not). I’ve nearly learnt all the teacher’s names in my form, and half of my homeroom class mates names (some with difficulty).
Yes, my cousins are there to help, it’s just a matter of finding them is the problem. My first homework assignment is “How to write a formal letter” and to top it off, we are practing on our homeroom teacher, because she wants to know more about us kids.
Well better go and leave you to it,
bye Miss Tea

That is fantastic and I am indeed very proud of you. You are ready to fly! Ready to do awesome things and surprise yourself. Enjoy it all.
I am sure you will write a great letter. So pleased to here that you are loving it. I guess you won’t need your cousins! You are ready to stand on your own two feet which is fabulous.
Still waiting for that photo. Jog your Dad’s memory.
Keep sailing.

Hi Daniel
I think it is really cool how you are really far away but still keeping in touch. This year is my last year at primary school, and at St Pats, but hopefully I will still find time to write on my blog while I’m at collage.
Are you still watching NRL? I think I told you but I now play soccer, but my new favourite sport is Cricket. My favourite player is David Warner because even in Test Match Cricket he isn’t afraid to hit huge sixes. Who is your favourite sport player?
This year at school is a lot different than last year. Instead of trays under our desks we have buckets that most of our stuff goes into. Also we don’t have our own spots, we just sit anywhere in the class. Also our class is GH4, now known as Room 8.
Hope to hear from you soon, you should comment on my blog, Antonio.

Hey all Daniel here. You’re all so lucky moving into GH4/Room 8. We moved from our old room (Room 1) to our new Form 2 room (Room 6). I don’t now when I will be back, but I might be back in NZ for good around the beginning of November. But I’ll be living in the city, So I could come to visit then.
