NZ Post Shortlist 2012
Here is a link to the NZ Post Children’s Book Awards 2012 shortlist. Start reading and then you will be able to vote.
And here are our teams for the Mastermind event that will take place in early Term 2. Reading of the books will start very soon. We have bought some already and some I have put on reserve at the library. We will need three copies as we have three teams! I will put in the date when I find it out when the actual day of the mastermind is. A lot of close reading is needed.
Senior Teams: Yes we have two teams, and almost had enough for three teams.

Dear Miss T’s Class
I think that a mastermind is a great idea to encourage kids to read more and get kids to enjoy reading. It sounds like a super fun activity and a great opportunity to improve on reading skills. At the moment I am reading Stig Of The Dump by Clive King. I like that book because it is about a boy who meets a person that lives in the dump and they become best friends.
Kind regards
Jodie

Hello Miss T’s classroom
It would be really awesome to do a Mastermind and it will also help develop your reading skills. I have just come from primary and am now at Taradale Intermediate. I am really enjoying it and learning lots of new skills.
Kind regards
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
My name is Siabhaon, I’ve been doing mastermind for three years now and it has made me a better reader all round. Right now mastermind has come round again and I am in team with Teegan, Simone, Connor and Joseph. Next year I will be in collage and won’t be able to do it any more, so I want to get into the finals again. Does your school do mastermind?
Waiting for your reply,
