Computers
Until we have discussed the use of computers, they will not be used in the classroom on the first day, at least not first thing.
Therefore if you are planning to bring your own computer, leave it at home for the first day, as there is a form that needs to be read and signed at home before you start using them at school. I think the new wireless system still has to be installed by Norcom as well.
When you arrive you will notice we have three new computers, and Mr Elms is seeing what he can do to speed up the laptops, so it doesn’t take half an hour to get from one page to the next.

Hi Miss T,
What is the computer program like at your school? Am I right in thinking that students bring their own laptops or devices?
Last year we started a 1:1 netbook program. We’re still finding our feet and always on the lookout for ways to utilise the netbooks better. If your class has any suggestions for us, we would love to hear it!
Good luck on your first day back tomorrow! (Is it tomorrow? Ours is. Staff only – students start back on Thursday)

We have a number of class computers – about 11 -12, about 5 are bringing their own. So that is out of a class of 25. It is our first year with BYOD so will see how it works out! We do use computers a lot once we get underway. I am going to be using google docs with students and we have signed up for Teacher Dashboard.
