I Am Learning To… or I Am Learning Too.
This video explains how to subtract by rounding to tidy numbers and then compensating. One of the mental strategies we can use to quickly subtract. I would like to thank Antonio who taught me how to download a ShowMe presentation onto my iPad using an app Free Video, and then placing the presentation into iMovie. I hope many of you will be making similar Maths movies. We will keep them on our wiki page here.

I have noticed the difference and I think once we get going we can make more. My problem at the moment is making the time for it. The days seem to be rushing by!

We did away with having individual desks. The students sit where they choose each time they begin a task. They keep the book they are reading, a Literacy exercise book and pencil case in the bucket! They can take them wherever they are working!

I really like you’re strategy of number line and compensation. It really helps me, and the good news is my mum tests me every morning on my basic facts but I hope that is enough to earn my academic badge.!
