It is always fun when suddenly we hear a ringing noise and we realise Kim is skyping us.  Yesterday that happened at silent reading time after lunch.  The day before she had tried to skype us but I had turned off my wireless link because we were busy doing two P.A.T. tests in reading comprehension and vocabulary. 

We chat as a class with Kim and then two or three students take over chatting to her in the little room next to the class room.  We love hearing from her.

Hi Mb4 it is Kim here. My house is great over here in Washington. I wish you were here to see it.  At my new school we get lots of homework, we get 45 minutes to one hour of homework each night. It is also different with the school books here.   I have 5 text books, 7 work books, and 4 note pads to put notes in for some subjects.  And one exercise book and one whiteboard (little one). 

Finally Kim’s Speech.  She was a little rushed as there is so much going on in her life at the moment.  She and her family are off to the USA in about a week.  They will be living there for a few years.  Outside Washington somewhere. She can leave a comment perhaps to tell us exactly where. I am sure its going to be very exciting.

Kim has made her choice, so listen in and check out our amazing student this week.

When it is pouring with rain we play a game of danger ball.  It is where you have a ball, a referee and a class.  The referee makes sure the game is played right, everyone spreads out in the room.  The players pass the ball around, if the ball is dropped that player that tries to catch it is out, unless it was a bad throw and it landed right in front of the person, then the thrower is out.  If the ball touches something, the person that threw it is out, it is a really fun game to play when it is raining.

I learned that when you mix colours you can make that colour lighter by adding white, if you want to make it darker you can add black.  I learned that Monet and his friends never used black because he thought that things are never really black they are just a darker colour.  I learned that Monet and his friends used each others ideas, like Monet used little dots, his friend used big  thick strokes, but light like feathers. Then Monet started used big thick strokes and his friend started using little dots.
