Miss T's Classroom.

where learning rocks!

The Classroom is Undergoing Change!

Today I shifted two filing cabinets and put them in the store room between Room 3 and 4.  Look what I found behind it, I had already picked up three SRA cards that I also found!  Hmm not a good look.

Why would I want to shift the filing cabinets?  Well you will have to wait to next week.  Prepare for a shock, because there is some radical change happening,  I am rethinking about the layout of the room.  It does not involve where you will sit or who you will sit beside.  If you can’t wait till next week come in and join me, help me and keep an eye on what I am thinking of doing.  No, that should be what I am doing!  Hope you like it!!

Ideas and Innovation.

Wordle of inventions
We have just started a topic on the impact of inventions on people’s lives. In groups students listed all the inventions they could name that we have in our classroom. The ones that stand out the most, are the ones every or most groups thought of.  The smaller ones were mentioned by only one or two groups.

So far we have found out that people for millions of years were  nomadicThey spent their time hunting and gathering.  It is only in the last ten thousand years that some big ideas changed the way people live.  These big ideas and inventions were mostly a response to our six basic needs.  What are those six basic needs?

When we were listing our basic needs, of course we came up with some other needs, like the need to learn and have  fun activities to do.  And a whole world of invention exists around them too.
