Digital Story

Jordan shared his completed digital story with us yesterday. He has a great way of telling his story so I decided to share it here with you.  The others are all shared on a page of our class wiki, which can be accessed in the right side bar.

At the moment we are busy making digital stories, here are a couple of ones that are complete.  We read them in front of a video camera and green screen and then we edited them and uploaded them to our you tube account.

Help! Help! Help Wanted!

As you all know I am exploring digital storytelling and video making. It sure is keeping me busy learning about it all and how it is so important for us in the 21st Century.

Now I know that many of you are big game players! Sigh! You know I am illiterate in this area and so I need your help. I was wondering if some of you could help out and explore some of the following tools and let me know in Term 3 what you think.

Teegan actually jogged my thoughts into asking your help because she is exploring Sploder. Go and check her game out, and I am sure you will be more successful than me, 5 minutes and counting on Level 1! Do not even think of leaving a comment to let me know how quickly you aced it!

So if you have been to Teegan’s blog you have the link to Sploder.  Here are some others.

  • Scratch  Try this at home as there needs to be a download. Ask parents first!
  •  Atmosphir    Try this at home as there needs to be a download. Ask parents first!
  • Kodu   Try this at home as there needs to be a download. Ask parents first!
  • Minecraft  I don’t think you need to download anything – just try the free version.
There are other websites that I will explore if I have time.  One or two allow for educational groups joining and then you get more you can do on the site for free!  So put your brains to work and try one out.  Report back here, or in Term 3.
Happy gaming!  Er… did I say that!  Don’t quote me!
